Which Workbench Setup Is Right for You?

Whether you're outfitting a pro shop, a serious home garage, or somewhere in between, here's how to pick the right setup.

Single Bench

Best for: home garages, weekend builders, side-business pros, or a second station in a working shop.

Start with a Pro Series Workbench in 12, 17, 18, 20, 24, or 30-drawer configurations. Pick your length (7 ft or 9 ft) and drawer count based on how much storage you actually need. Every bench ships with the same 14-gauge 304 stainless top, all-welded frame, swappable drawers, and integrated power, so you're not trading down on quality.

Pro WorkBench Package (Most Popular)

Best for: full-time pros, working shops, anyone outfitting a dedicated bay.

Bench plus matching wall cabinets plus locker cabinets, fully integrated. Same finish, same lockset family. This is the setup most working pros land on because it solves storage above and below the bench in one purchase. Available in 12, 17, 18, 20, 24, and 30-drawer configurations to match your bench size.

Shop Workbench FAQ

What's the difference between a workbench with drawers and a tool chest?

A workbench with drawers gives you a full work surface plus integrated drawer storage in one piece of furniture. A tool chest is built for storage only, with no work surface on top. If you do any actual work (cleaning, assembly, repairs, light fabrication), you want a workbench with drawers. If you only need storage, a rolling tool chest is fine. Most pro shops have both, but the workbench is the daily driver.

How many drawers do I actually need?

For a home garage with hand tools and basic mechanical work, 12 to 17 drawers is plenty. For a serious working shop or full-time professional use, 20 to 30 drawers gives room to organize by tool category and have dedicated drawers for parts, consumables, and specialty tools. Our drawers are swappable, so you can also start smaller and reconfigure later as your tool collection grows.

Are the drawers full extension?

Yes. Every drawer on a Pro Series workbench opens completely so you can see and reach what's at the back. The slides are rated for heavy gear, made from 16-gauge galvanized stainless steel, and stay smooth under load.

What weight can the drawers hold?

Each drawer is rated for heavy mechanical loads including engine parts, dense tool sets, and full socket trays. The 16-gauge galvanized stainless steel construction and heavy-duty slides handle weights that lighter drawers warp or seize under. For specific load ratings per drawer size, check the individual product page or call us.

How thick is the workbench top?

14-gauge 304 stainless steel with a wood backing. The wood adds vibration dampening and rigidity for vise mounting. The stainless surface cleans up with brake cleaner and won't dent, warp, or absorb solvents. Strong enough to mount a re-loader, vise, or press without flexing.

Can I customize the drawer configuration?

Yes. Our drawer system is fully swappable. Mix deep drawers for big parts, medium drawers for assemblies, and shallow drawers for bits and consumables. Change the configuration any time. Drawer inserts are available for cleaning, parts trays, screwdriver bits, and small-tool organization.

Are the drawers lockable?

Yes. Every drawer locks. Every cabinet locks. The matching wall and locker cabinets in the Pro Bench Package share the same lock keying. Useful for shared shop environments, customer property, or any situation where you need to walk away from open drawers.
