Fire Red: A New Finish for Our 10th Year
A Navy machinist got tired of overpriced tool storage and built his own. Ten years later, here is how Dragonfire Tool Storage came together.

Ten years ago we started building workbenches in two colors, because two colors were what the job needed. Today we are adding a third, and it is the one people have been asking us for since the beginning.
Fire Red is here. It is a durable powder-coat finish, and it is now available across the Pro Series lineup: workbenches, tool cabinets, wall cabinets, locker cabinets, corner cabinets, and complete packages.
The first product Dragonfire Tool Storage ever produced was a red 20 Drawer Workbench. It looked a lot different from the current Pro Series 20 Drawer, but we returned to our roots from the spring of 2016 to launch Fire Red. We've been testing and perfecting the color and durability for over two years, but a brand color and a finish that has to survive a decade of impact wrenches, brake fluid, and dropped sockets are two different problems, and we were not going to release a red until it held up the same way our Gunmetal Gray and Gloss Black do.
The 10-year mark felt like the right time. We wanted to mark the decade with something you can actually put in your garage, not just a thank-you note.
Fire Red is a deep, saturated red with a satin powder-coat finish, not a candy gloss and not a fire-truck orange-red. In a garage with overhead LEDs it reads bold without washing out, and it holds up against fingerprints and shop grime better than a high-gloss surface does.
Our three finishes now cover three different looks:
One thing worth mentioning for anyone building in stages: because the finishes are consistent across every Pro Series product, you can mix them deliberately. A Fire Red workbench under Gunmetal Gray wall cabinets is a genuinely good-looking setup, and it is a common way people phase a build over a couple of years.

The finish is the only thing that changed. Every Fire Red unit is built the same way:
If you want power inside a drawer as well, the Workbench Power Drawer Upgrade Kit turns any drawer into a charging drawer. It fits all current workbench models.
Fire Red is live now on every product listed above. Use the Pro Configurator to spec a bench with the drawer layout, feet or casters, and finish you want, or start from a complete package if you would rather have the bench, wall cabinets, and lockers arrive together.
And since we are marking ten years: everything on the site is 10% off during the anniversary sale, ending August 31, 2026.
Ten years in, we are still building the bench we would want in our own shop. Fire Red is the newest version of that. We would love to see yours.

Line up your chargers, drop in your batteries, slide the drawer shut. Your top stays clear, your cords disappear, and your batteries come off the charger ready to work.
